4. Third-Party Services

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website. GA4 collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, session duration, and general location. This data is processed by Google LLC. You can opt out of GA4 tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Apptoto (Scheduling)

Our online scheduling system is powered by Apptoto. When you schedule a consultation through our website, your name, phone number, and appointment details are processed by Apptoto. Please review Apptoto’s Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your information.

Google Maps

Our Contact Us page embeds Google Maps to display our office locations. Google may collect information through this embed, including your IP address and browser information. Please review Google’s Privacy Policy for details.

5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to enable certain site functionality and to support analytics. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser.

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling cookies may affect some site functionality. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when new cookies are set.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Our specific retention periods are:

  • Contact form submissions: Retained for up to 24 months after your last contact with us, or until you request deletion, whichever comes first.
  • Scheduling and appointment data (Apptoto): Retained for the duration of any legal matter and the applicable statute of limitations period under North Carolina law, which is generally three years for most civil claims.
  • Google Analytics data: Retained for 14 months per GA4’s default data retention setting. You can review Google’s retention practices in their documentation.

After the applicable retention period, personal data is deleted or anonymized. You may request early deletion of your information at any time by contacting us using the information in Section 17 below.

7. Attorney-Client Relationship

Submitting information through this website — including a contact form submission or scheduling request — does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is formed only upon a written engagement agreement signed by both you and Duncan Law, LLP.

Do not send confidential or time-sensitive information through the contact form on this website. If you have an urgent legal matter, please call us directly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights with respect to personal information we hold about you, including the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to applicable legal requirements
  • Opt out of certain data processing activities

To make any such request, contact us using the information provided in Section 17 below.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted through our website.

10. Links to Other Sites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including court websites, government resources, and bar association directories. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

11. Text Message Communications

When you schedule a consultation through our online booking system (Apptoto), you may receive automated text message reminders about your appointment. • Message frequency: Appointment reminders only — typically one to two messages per scheduled appointment.
  • Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan.
  • To opt out: Reply STOP to any text message, or contact us at (336) 856-1234.
  • For help: Reply HELP or call us directly.

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Opting out of appointment reminders will not affect your ability to schedule a consultation or use our services.

12. Do Not Track Signals

Some web browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites indicating you do not want your browsing activity tracked across sites. Our website does not currently respond to DNT browser signals. Google Analytics 4, which we use for website analytics, collects usage data regardless of DNT settings. If you wish to opt out of GA4 tracking, you may do so by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
