This is more likely to happen if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are not current on your Chapter 13 bankruptcy payments<\/li>\n<li>You do not have a good reason for falling behind on your Chapter 13 payments<\/li>\n<li>The vehicle is not necessary for you to successfully complete your Chapter 13 bankruptcy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the creditor is able to persuade the court to lift the stay, the repossession of your vehicle may be able to proceed.<\/p>\n<p>Before making a decision about bankruptcy, it is a good idea to speak with a bankruptcy attorney or a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consumerfinance.gov\/ask-cfpb\/how-do-i-find-a-credit-counselor-en-1351\/\">credit counselor<\/a> to get more information about your options and the potential consequences.
